The Sacred Assembly: A Visual Dharma Teaching

This Thangka presents a complete mandala of blessing, centred on Chenrezig but supported by the energies of long Life and Infinite light.

  • Central Deity (Chenrezig):
The 4-Armed Chenrezig sits in the vajra posture on a magnificent Floral Throne.
His white body signifies purity, while his four arms represent the Four Immeasurables: Love, Compassion, Joy, and Equanimity.
  • The Protection (Chatra):
Above his head floats a golden Chatra (parasol).
This auspicious symbol represents protection from all evil and the heat of suffering.
  • Upper Left (Amitabha Buddha):
The Red Buddha of Infinite Light appears in the corner.
As the spiritual father of Chenrezig,
he represents the transformation of desire into wisdom.
  • Upper Right (White Tara):
The Goddess of Long Life and Healing looks on with her seven eyes.
Her presence adds a powerful vibration of health and longevity to the thangka.

The Living Landscape

The figures float against a deep Blue Background, representing the vast, emptiness of the Dharmakaya (Truth Body).
The ornate floral aureole surrounding Chenrezig highlights the blossoming of enlightened qualities.
